Resting On A Holiday

2009
10.29

What is a holiday? Originally, my idea of this holiday which we are having now is going to see new places and experiencing new things. But because of some limitations with mobility and budget, we can’t go to all the places which we’ve originally planned to go. But then, it must be a blessing in disguise because our holiday schedule is not as hectic as planned and we have a lot of time to rest and laze our days.

We are also enjoying our stay here in our relative’s house since its very cozy and comfortable. Our kids are so happy to be here since they can also play and watch a lot of cartoons in the big tv. They can even have more time to play in the walk in tubs. Wow, it’s just a great feeling to rest and relax. I thank God for this opportunity and may these free time indeed be well spent in HIm.

Hong Kong Prices

It’s only our second day in Hong Kong right now and I can’t help but notice that most of the stuff here are more expensive than Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia.

Take for example some bottled drinks or juices that only cost around 20 pesos in the Philippines, here it’ll cost around 6 HK dollars which would be around 36 pesos. At least their prices are not as high as the western countries but speaking from an Asian point of view who’s in a very tight budget, I just can’t help but notice ( and complain?). But then again, if one is working here in Hong Kong, they won’t really feel the high cost because their salary is also high. I’ve heard from our friend that even Filipino domestic helpers here are paid more than 20 K  pesos ( from HK equivalent).

And back to Hong Kong prices, I’m still on the lookout for something cheap in this place and maybe then I can do a little bit of shopping..:)

Of Homeschool and Degrees

We’ve finally decided which homeschool curriculum we should choose for our li’l girl. Now, we’re just praying and waiting for our funds and only then we can make our order online.

Homeschool is really our best choice as of now since she’s still small. There will be more options to  consider  once she reaches college level since she can be more independent to study in another place if not she can even opt for an online degree.

Most of the fully accredited sites that offers online degrees are very expensive. But I’ve found one that is very affordable yet very credible. It’s the Western Governors University and they’re even offering masters degree online.

House Makeover

I have a friend who loves to join contests and since she religiously search and join them, she often wins the prizes. One of the major prizes that she won was a “Room Makeover”. As part of the contest prize, she had a privilege to consult an Interior Designer and the contractors did the makeover for her. I can’t help but be amazed by that contest prize.

Her story has actually inspired me to join different contests too. But I think for now, my motivation dwindled down because of my busy schedule. But if ever I win get a free makeover to any part of the house. I would choose to have a kitchen makeover. I would love to have a beautiful kitchen with copper kitchen sinks, built in cabinets, breakfast table and etc. If my kitchen would be very beautiful and functional, then maybe then  I’ll be inspired to cook  and bake for my family. :)

All Packed

2009
10.24

We’ll be travelling again tomorrow. I’m already done with the packing but I just have a few more things to put in our bags tomorrow like our toiletries, shoes ( not Naot shoes though) and our kids milk and milk bottles.

I like to travel that’s why I’m always excited when we go out and explore new places. Though sometimes it’s more challenging to travel with kids but it’s still fun especially when they’re in a good mood.

Anways, may we have a pleasant and blessed trip tomorrow!

Playhouse Disney Celebration Center

If you’re planning to hold a children’s party for your li’l ones, you might want to check out the Playhouse Disney Site ( Celebration Center tab). They have free templates of different decorations, cardboard display ,  invitations and fun recipes for your party. I’ve just printed some decorations for my li’l boy’s birthday party and everyone thought that I bought them. :) It’s really saves a lot of money and at the same time you can make your celebration prettier and more fun for the kids!

Low Fare Flights

2009
10.19

We’ve been constantly checking low fare flights to the Philippines for the past weeks now. But because there are 4 of us in the family, the total cost for our fare would still be quite big.

Airasia and Cebu Pacific have been regularly having promotional fares but they are not really the super low fares or the zero fare promo which been looking forward to. We’re planning to fly back to the Philippines in November, so I guess we will just have to book whatever promotional fare is available now or else we might end up booking for an expensive flight since the peak season is already on the way.
