Robinson’s 70% Off Sale

2010
02.28

Robinson’s Department Store here in Hat Yai has an on going sale that’s up to 70% off on selected items of all branded wear, clothing and accessories. I just saw their posters and brochures yesterday but I don’t think we’ll be going there to see the sale today. Today is Sunday and the city center is just too crowded. Why? because it’s a long weekend for the Malaysians so, there are bus loads of them in the city center now. And not to mention it’s also a holiday here in Thailand tomorrow, so it seems like everyone is out in the malls and supermarket.

The Amazing Thailand Grand Sale Fair

2010

Every year, Thailand has a 2 month long grand sale in the key cities and departments stores. You can get discounts up to 50% off on a variety of products and services.

For this year, the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale is scheduled on the 1st of July until the 31st of August in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Hat Yai, Songkla and Pattaya.

Yes, I’m always on the look out for the biggest sale. Now, I have a task to look for the cheapest term life insurance available online.

The Hospital Bill

We have a saying in the Philippines that says, ” Bawal Magkasakit” which means, ” Getting Sick is Not Allowed.”  It’s really true, if it’s possible we must avoid getting sick at all cost. Why? Because aside from being weak and not being able to do work and the normal things,  it’s costly to get sick.

My Hubby just got admitted in the hospital few weeks ago. He was really so weak and the Doctor advised him to be admitted immediately. After a few dosage of medicine and tests, he was fine and was allowed to check out the following day. And guess how much he had to pay the hospital for an over night ( few hours ) stay? 13,000 Baht. Whew!

Getting hospitalized is really costly these days. Thank God that we’ve got great insurance quotes before and are now medically insured. Praise God for health insurance if not, we would always have second thoughts going to the hospital for the fear of expensive bills.

Carrefour Coupons

02.25

It’s almost the 28th of February. I’m reminded of the Carrefour discount coupons that we got during the Chinese New Year. Those coupons can only be used from the 28th of February onwards. We would really save a lot if we used those coupons ranging from 6 Baht to 1,000 Baht discount. The items that have 1,000 Baht discount coupons are appliances like flat screen TV and the like. But hey, those are great savings huh?

I just love to use discount coupons. I just found out that nordictrack is also offering discount coupons online. But I guess, I’ll have to think about that later when I’m more consistent with my exercise routine.

Curry and Coke

We just had a great lunch. Our family friend cooked Chicken Curry and Prawn Sambal for us. And it was really Yum!! And do you know what’s the best pair for Curry? Yes, Coke!! So, I just ate a lot of curry and drank glasses of Coke for lunch.

And now after a very filling lunch, I feel guilty of not keeping up with my diet. Could getting on treadmills be enough to burn all the calories I just ate?

My Waist Trimmer

2010
02.15

I bought a waist trimmer disc a few months ago. I only got to use it a few times and got bored of it. But just this morning I saw my li’l boy using it and it looks so amusing. Only then, I got reminded of this gadget and thought of using it again everyday ( hopefully).

With my weight loss ‘program’, I have to be faithful in seeming small exercises and only then I will be ‘entrusted’ with much like weight training and strength training. Maybe only then I can think of searching for the best muscle building supplement .

Letter “C”

2010
02.15

I told my Hubby one day that most of my favorite things start with a letter C..

Chocolates, Cakes, Coke, Curry, Chicken, Curry, Coffee, iCe Cream, Crab, Cupcakes…

And if you’ve noticed, these are all food items and to mention food that are not supposed to be part of any diet program. Arrghh.. So, what to do now? Should I continue eating all my favorites and just take a diet aid instead?

Clearasil Vs. Nivea

2010

I was going through our stuff  last week. These are the things which we left behind for a year here in Thailand. I found so many useful ‘treasures’ as well as trash as I rummaged through our things. One of the things I found was a big bottle of Nivea skin toner. I used this when I was pregnant  because it’s the only cheap toner that I can find which is hypoallergenic. Tood bad, I just bought a big bottle of Clearasil toner too. So, which one should I use first now? Maybe I should use the Nivea toner first since it has already been on the shelf longer. I wonder if these toners will work well with acne scar removal treatment.

The Wacoal Sale is on again!! This time two malls ( Odean Department Store and Central Department Store) in the city are having the Wacoal yearly sale in which you can get as much as 50% discount on each item. The sale lasts till the end of the month and I hope I would be able buy an item or two before the sale ends.

The English Center

2010
02.15

My Husband and I are working for an English center. The center has currently moved to a new place and is now quite settled and ready for new intakes. Our center’s new location is quite far from the city center and therefore we need to plan and think a lot about our signages and advertising materials. We’ve already thought of coming up with some unique advertising material and hopefully, we could think of more.

Just the other day our center’s signage has already been put up. Now, the people who passes by the place can notice our center because of our well lighted signage. This week, my Hubby is going to put the Thai Flag and the Thai King’s flag near the signage too. I like this country’s sense of nationality as I see it through their buildings and establishments just filled with their country’s flag. I don’t see that much in my home country except during our country’s celebration of  Independence day. Even then, only government offices and few private establishments put up our country’s flag in their buildings.

And speaking of flags, I’ve found this site that specializes in the selling of US flags. They just manufacture good quality American flags that are durable and long lasting. They also make custom flags too.
