Sleepless Nights

After our mommy holiday, I was bracing myself for the loads of work waiting for me—mostly paper works and teaching. Not to mention that being a domestic diva that I am, I still have house work. The island get-away was relaxing and was a good “jump off” to the tons of work to be done. I did not expect the sudden operation of our two year old boy days after we arrived from that vacation, though. That made my already “lack of sleep” nights into “ totally sleepless” nights. I wonder what are the best eye cream for dark circles? I badly need it—being busy is not an excuse to not staying beautiful, don’t you agree? :)

Going Clean

The Thai government has a facility for juvenile delinquents or young people who have in any way been involved in drugs or theft before they reach the age of 18. It is a pitiful sight when you get to visit the facility because most of these young people have no proper homes and have grown in the streets almost all their lives.

I am not sure if the youth remands here have methadone detox, but the bigger rehabilitation centers should have. The youth remand offers a new hope for the young people to go clean, but after three months they have to get out of the centers to make room for new people to come. I personally think that there should be another agency that would cater to the needs of these young people because most likely, they will go back to the streets and do the same things they did before.

Cutesy Baby Stuff

The newest baby in church..photo taken by my friend.

Last Sunday we got to see the newest baby in the church..:) Our friend actually gave birth almost 2 weeks ago and it was the first time for them to bring their baby to the church.

Oh everyone was adoring the baby, including my almost 7 year old daughter and 3 year old son. I was actually surprise to see my son gently stroking the baby’s hair. You see, my son is a strong and a ‘tough’ one. It’s nice to see the gentle side of him when he’s with the babies. He must be ready for a baby brother or baby sister, perhaps? Oh, even if he is ready but the Mom’s not ready for an addition in the family.

Anyways, seeing the baby somehow makes me miss those times when my kids were still infants. Oh, how we would love to dress them up with those tiny little clothes. If we live in the states and our baby is an Ohio State Baby, we could have easily bought those cute, baby football state shirts. But for our li’l girl, we loved seeing here with pretty dresses while we mostly bought jump suits for our li’l boy.

Oh, writing all these brings me back to those times. Anyways, as of now, I’m quite satisfied with remembering the old days when my kids were still babies and maybe if I miss babies so much, then I can always ‘borrow’ my friends’ babies. This can save me from sleepless nights .. hehehe! I know it’s quite obvious that I’m quite satisfied with having 2 kids.
