Price Vs. Quality and Safety

I have heard of several cases already about people suffering from defective products. With the intense competition of computer products, devices, and even appliances, companies strive to give lower prices. Most often than not, very cheap products are of low quality already if not defective. This endangers people especially when products are capable of exploding such as those very cheap home appliances.

Granting that this might happen, what rights do customers have? Can they sue the manufacturer or the seller for that? Good for those in other countries where people can seek good counsel. For instance in Texas, particularly in Austin, people can access the assistance of an Austin personal injury lawyer to handle product liability lawsuits.

Nevertheless, if you’re drawn to buying cheaper products, assure yourself of security and safety first.

Our friends from the Philippines are coming to visit us this weekend. My mom and family on the other hand has requested them to bring some of the goodies they bought for us. Oh, I’m so excited! Of course, some of my favorite goodies will be there plus the Nestle’ cream, cheese and spaghetti sauce. My Mom also sent some party stuff for my daughter’s 7th birthday plus some toys for my kids.

I’m also praying for God’s favor to be our friends that they will be able to pass through the Philippine Immigration without any hassles. I’ve heard of a lot of Filipinos being denied to leave the country by our immigration. Yes, it’s so sad. I hope and pray that our friends won’t be one of them. Aside from the fact that they’ll be bringing our goodies, we also need them to be here to help us out in our workshop.

Here is a photo of the Goodies (pasalubong) that we received from our friends last year.

Yesterday, my daughter and I went to this provincial trade fair. As usual there were a lot of people as the locals love visiting these trade fairs as products and delicacies from far away provinces are being brought and sold in the city for a cheap price.

But I noticed though as we were going around the booths that there were several military men with firearms going around too. I would be concern of safety if there were firearms for sale in the area but there weren’t any. Then, I realized that the city must be on red alert as the insurgency goes on in the south. As read in the newspapers, there has been attacks on the lower provinces. And since this is the nearest and biggest city in the south, they are also being vigilant and cautious and try to keep the public places safe. Anyways, my daughter and I didn’t stay long and just bought a few things and went back home.

Oh, it’s just now that I remembered that Carrefour has been bombed a feyears back. There were 15 people injured and I think 3 casualities from that incident. So, this reminds us to be still be cautious and vigilant to be secure at all times. Many times when Hubby and I feel that the place is too crowded and we see a lot of military around, we try to avoid that place. We never know when any attacks from the militants might happen. This city though not frequent, has also been a target of attacks. But thank God for keeping us safe all through the years.
