The Two Wholesalers

Yesterday, we went to our shopping ‘haven’ here in Hat Yai. Our shopping ‘haven’ is neither the big malls nor the night markets, but the ‘wholesalers’ area near the Hat Yai Clock Tower. The shops here a actually not the common destination for the tourists but more for the local business people.

There’s this shop where we frequent selling wallets, belts and other accessories. Oh, they are so cheap! Even if we’re require to buy a minimum of a dozen pcs. of each product , but the price is just buying 2 pcs. if you buy from the mall.

Anyways, as we walked further down the road, we saw two shops selling bags at a wholesale price. The first shop we went to was owned by an unfriendly Thai chinese lady. When we were looking around, she immediately told us crossly that they’re selling wholesale and to get the wholesale price we must buy a minimum of 12 bags. She was a bit rude and so we just left her store and went to the other shop across the road. The owner there was much friendlier and she didn’t give us any limitations as we chose and purchased. Because her bags we quite cheap, our group ended up buying more than 6 bags.

Oh, it’s a loss for the other unfriendly shop owner who was like shooing us away because we couldn’t buy 12 bags. I guess it really pays to be kinder and friendlier to customers.

Shopping Galore

The only times when I need to do a lot of shopping is when we go back home to the Philippines and during Christmas. So, since we’re going back home  and it’s going to be Christmas in a few days time, I did a lot of shopping lately. And quite honestly, I’m not yet done yet. I still have a list of things to buy from my family back home and hopefully, I could buy all these tomorrow. As for  our gifts for family members, I think we’re already done. I’ve already bought a few of the gifts a few months back whenever there’s a  sale at the malls. I could have bought some during the ‘best buy black friday ‘ but then I only managed to buy ebooks for homeschool at that time.

Carrot Pulp

I’ve been juicing again for almost a week now. A few days ago, I was able to make good use of the carrot pulps that I had since I baked a Carrot Cake for a friend who was celebrating his birthday. Ever since, I felt a bit ‘guilty’ in throwing away all my vegetables and fruit pulp from my juicer. I heard some people say they are one of the best composters. But then I don’t have a garden. So, for now I have to choice but to throw away the pulp, unless I need to bake a carrot cake for another birthday celebrant . :)
