My friends and I were chatting and planning our Mommy Holiday for next year. So, I searched through the photos and reviews of the hotel we were planning to stay in. After that, I lingered on all the other sites and probable places that my family and I could go on a holiday too. No, we actually don’t have holiday plans for now. We had one last May and that was because we just received a great blessing and thought of giving ourselves a holiday.

Anyways, I just can’t help but dream of another holiday with my family. It doesn’t have to be grand. A weekend stay somewhere nice will do. I just feel I need a break these days. Praying this dream of mine will soon come true. :)

Chocolates Galore

My hubby just came from the border and when he came back he brought me a bagful of chocolates. I love chocolates and I can eat them everyday without fail, but then, I’m on a strive to live a ‘healthy’ life so, I only have to eat them occasionally and not excessively.

So, I hope this bagful of chocolates can last for more than a month. He actually bought some of my favorite chocolates except for the gold coin chocolates. I’ve actually been thinking about these chocolates before. The gold coins were my very favorite when I was young.

But now, I guess I would prefer the real gold coins in which you can use as an investment. :) I heard that their value never seem to diminish even as time goes by.

6 MB

Our internet service provider has increased it’s internet speed to 6 MB. The other night we applied for upgrade for our internet  connection and they said that it will take effect in a few days time. The upgrade is actually free and it’s amazing how our internet started from 1 MB goes higher and higher each year.

Anyways, I’ve checked our internet speed last night and it seems that it’s still 4MB. I’ll have to ask my HUbby to call our internet provider and remind them to upgrade our connection.

Monthly Groceries

Yipee! It’s time to do the monthly groceries again. I really like to do our monthly groceries. First, I like going to the hypermarkets and actually making some purchases and not just window shopping. And second, I like to see our fridge, freezer and pantry full of all supplies after we do our groceries.

Doing our monthly groceries doesn’t necessarily mean that we buy all our monthly good and never go back to the shop again. There are things that don’t remain fresh for a month like bread, vegetable and fresh milk. So, all these we buy in between. As for meats, our freezer is so small that it can’t contain our monthly supply too so, we also have to buy them in between.

Anyways, enough of babbling now, I have to get ready and write my grocery list.

Dollar Vs Pesos

I’ve just checked the Paypal exchange rate for today and it’s only 44.10 Pesos per 1 US$. The rate is just average as of now since it has experienced it’s all time low about 2 weeks ago. It’s funny sometimes because different people will have different reactions on the rise and fall of the Peso against the Dollar.

For the US based income people, like those working overseas or even for those who earn a few dollars a week from the internet, we rejoice when the dollar value is high because it would mean that our remittance will be bigger in Pesos. But sometimes, we fail to realize that a higher dollar doesn’t mean a better economy.

I remember the time during Fidel V. Ramos time, when the dollar was only 23.00 Pesos. So, when we went to Subic Duty Free shops, our pesos was of more value and we got to buy a lot of chocolates and other imported goods.

So, I guess investing on dollars will not be a good idea too, as we can’t predict the times. But I’ve heard that many people are investing in gold coins now as they are sure that the value of these coins is sure to appreciate.

Special Coupons

I love discount coupons! Who doesn’t? Anyways, whenever I receive these coupons, I make sure that I keep them in my bag because they might come handy in the future. And every time I get to use them, I feel proud of saving some money and getting a special price or special deal.

One time we went to KFC, and I remember I had a few KFC coupons. So, we based our order from our coupons and ended up saving more than 25 Baht. Cool huh! Then, the latest coupon that we used was given to us by Pizza Company. They actually give a few coupons after ordering pizza for take out. Anyways, we were in Swensen’s with our brother’s family and the kids decided to order a single scoop of Ice cream each. Then, I remember my ‘Buy 2 scoops  free 1 scoop’ for Swensen’s. And so, we used it and saved more than 20 Baht.

So, there.. call me a ‘Coupon’ enthusiast’ for now. :)

* This just get to prove that the coupon, brochure printing and other marketing materials are never a waste since they’re beneficial to both the consumer and seller.

Buy 1 Take 1 Pizza

Last month, we just bought Pizza Company’s Buy 1 take 1 card. This card can be bought in any Pizza Company branches for 299 Baht and entitles you a free pizza on every pizza that you order.

I remember that this card only used to be 199 Baht a few years ago. But even if the cost has increased, it’s still worth it. For my birthday, we bought a large pizza worth 420 baht and got another pizza of the same worth for free. So, that means, I still saved up more than one hundred baht even if I purchased the card.

Haaay.. writing about this now, makes me crave for pizza. But I have to wait a little longer since I can’t eat pizza and other junk food for now.

Life Is Good

Life is Good because the God who gives us life is good. That’s our realization today as we spent the whole day at the beach. It’s really great to just go out, enjoy and bask in the beauty of life that God has given us. It makes us realize all the beauty that surrounds us and enjoy it. And we are constantly reminded of how God loves us, provides for us and protects for us. Sometimes, with all of these, it’s easy not to think about disability insurance and the like.

Rooting for Taylor Mathews

We don’t have NBC here in Thailand and I only got to know America’s Got Talent through Youtube. Now, with the Top 48 almost complete I have a few favorite acts and one of them is Taylor Mathews. I like this guy’s voice and at the same time his unassuming personality. I can’t wait to see who will win the America’s Got Talent for this year.

And speaking of which, I just to to know about Taylor Swift through Youtube too. This girl is quite talented and would want to get  Taylor Swift tickets if she gets to have a concert here in our city.

4 Days Holiday

There’s another long holiday coming next week. It’s too bad that we can’t go anywhere for a holiday. We just went for a family holiday last May and I’m saving up for a trip at the end of the year. Nevertheless, we will draft up some plans for this long weekend and make sure that the kids are busy and having fun. It’ll be nice to go on an RV trip but then they don’t have those here in Thailand. Or maybe they have some of these in Bangkok. I wonder how much would the rv insurance quote would cost.
