The Tourism Authority of Thailand is once again trying to boost the tourism industry here in Hat Yai after the recent incidents that caused the public to fear its safety in the city. And I guess that their plan is really working since I could see the city up and about again with tourists looming in.

So, with Hat Yai’s 5 Suprises in 5 Weeks, many establishments for hotels, malls and restuarants are offering great discounts from the 16th of April until the 20th of May. Majoy shopping malls like Central Department Store, Robinson’s, Odean and Diana are offering discounts up to 70% off! Just last week, we bought Wacoal undergarments for my mom and siblings. They were really cheap! And as we went to the basement floor of Central Department stores, branded items are on sale up to 70% too!

I’ve also heard that Lee Garden’s 33rd Sky Buffet has a promotion now of 99 Baht for it’s lunch buffet. This used to be 169 Baht. JB Hansa’s lunch buffet also has the buy 2 take 1 promotion. The list goes on..and I can’t wait to discover more sales and promotion. I better go to Robinson’s Department store and see what they’ve got.

Arghh.. It’s just now that I realized that I forgot to show our discount card when we were paying for our food at the restaurant last night. We could have saved a few bucks using that card. Why am I so forgetful? I could still remember proudly showing the card to my Hubby and telling him that it’s good that we’re dining at that restaurant because we could get 10% discount.

I guess we were so caught up with our serious conversation during our dinner that I totally forgot about the card when we were paying. Anyways, I better be more ‘alert’ next time. I’m sure that next time we dine out or we go shopping for clothes or flud watches , I’ll surely make sure to let the card out before going to the counter.

I wonder of teenage girls also give these gifts for their boyfriends or fruit baskets for boyfriend.

During our trip to Bangkok, Hubby gave our daughter 80 Baht so she can buy something for herself during the trip. She was so excited about her 80 baht and already planned to buy herself a wallet. Our trip to Bangkok was a very short one and so we were not able to go to a lot of places. The only time we thought of buying her wallet was on our way back to Hat Yai. It’s good that the Southern Bus terminal has some shops and store outlets so, we thought of buying her wallet there. But on the way to the wallet shops, we passed by a small book shop. She browsed on some books and already liked a few of the books. She had to remind herself that she wanted a wallet and so we went proceed to buy the wallet. But when we were already at the shops looking at the wallets, she told me that she changed her mind and she’s buying the book instead. Well, what can I say? I think she has made a good decision.

And here she is with her new book.. and I would say, she also made a good selection.

Many of the social networks we have now are mostly for recreation purposes. Though social networks plays an important part of our society today, but it’s primary purpose for us if for recreation, information and entertainment.

But there is this network existing in the US that caters to the needs of the physicians. It’s called Doximity. This site has a very large network of real physicians and is only used for them. It’s primary purpose is to create this large network of physicians so, they can share resources, information or referrals with each other. Imagine, how easier it could be for a physician in New York to refer his or her patient who’s moving to California if he has all the information of a good physician in that place. And for example if you’re searching for Peter Terry MD , it’ll be so easy to find where this physician is based and a lot of other details too. I’ve also heard that currently 6% of the physicians in the US are in this network. And with any social networks, we could predict that this number will increase in no time. Just like Facebook, who could imagine that with a few years in it’s existence, its subscribers could reach up to almost 800 Million.

As I’m sitting down and typing this post, I can literally feel the bulge of my stomach. Nope, I’m not pregnant so you can already guess that the bulge is due to my unwanted fats! LOL! Oh, the dreadful feeling of wanting to lose weight but loving food at the same time. I can’t help but ask , does apidextra work? If so, then maybe I could try these pills. But then again, at the back of my mind, I know that no matter how much weight I lose from these pills but if I don’t change my eating habits, it will still be futile.

So, that’s my dilemma now.. I want to lose weight but for now, I can’t just give up food.

The only mall we were able to visit during our short visit to Bangkok 2 weeks ago, was the Central World. Oh, our time was really so short, that we weren’t even able to go around the whole mall. We were only there for a few hours. My daughter spent an hour at the skating rink, at the Genius Planet and Toys R us.

But I was more impressed with the ‘free play’ that my daughter had at the Genius Planet. It’s really a great place for the kids to safely and freely run around and play. We usually play 30-40 Baht for every 30 minutes of play here in Hat Yai but it was for free there at Central World. My daughter had a blast and was even begging me to let her play more. But sadly, we had to meet our friend for dinner so, we had to leave the place.

If ever we go back to Bangkok, we will surely go back to visit Central World, not just for the kids to play at the Genius planet but also to visit The Knowledge Park.

Then, I asked them if they were able to visit the place where they sell silver jewelries. They said they didn’t have time and they didn’t know where it was. I then described the place and gave them directions on how to get there. It so happened that they were just a few blocks away from the silver shops. They felt bad that they were not able to see and buy the cheap silver jewelries from the place. But then, one of them suggested that maybe we could all go there on a separate trip just to buy silver coins and jewelries! That was truly an exciting idea since I love going to Nakhon. I like to see the cheap silver stuff that they have from silver utensils to jewelries . I hope our plans will push through! I’m excited!

Finally, my Galaxy Y that has been sent all the way from the Philippines is finally on my hands.. I could hardly contain my excitement. I was able to touch it and tinker it.. but wait! Why doesn’t it work when I put in my Thai Sim card?? .. After looking at the contents inside the box, it was only then that I found out that the phone is locked to a certain mobile service provider. Argghh!! So that means, I couldn’t fully utilize my ‘hi-tech’ phone until I send it to the shop to be unlocked! I was a bit disappointed, but at least I was already able to browse through a few of the applications and even installed a couple of games for my kids. I’m so thankful for this blessing! Thank God for the one who blessed me with this hi-tech phone after using a ‘flashlight’ phone for almost 4 years!

Tomorrow, I will be able to get my ‘unlocked’ phone from the shop and hopefully I can fully enjoy all its features and apps! Exciting!
